Mollusk Research

Alright fools, today I want you to become an expert on any mollusk of your choice.  Tomorrow we will be dissecting a squid and a clam and I want you to be very familiar with one specific mollusk so you can compare structures tomorrow.  You need to be an expert on one species.  Here is what you need to know:

- Common name
- Latin name
- Range (where it lives)
- What class of mollusk is it in?
- Size
- Ecology (what does it eat?  What eats it?)
- What special adaptations does it have?
- Be familiar with the general anatomy of the organism (generally: gastropod, cephalopod, bivalve)
- Research opportunities?
